Avoid two pitfalls most artists never overcome

John Stringer performing with State of ManThey key to becoming a better singer/songwriter, performing artist is GROWTH.
Grow for the better in every area you can.

Here are two quick resources I became an affiliate of because they helped me overcome two very common artist pitfalls – not growing as a songwriter and not growing as a singer:

1. The Songwriting Genius Within You
Simply put, one of the best writing resources I’ve found that goes beyond simple song structure and a lot of the basic tips you find in other songwriting courses.  This is about little-known techniques that help you tap into true Genius and the science behind it.   You also get a great discount from the author of this remarkable resource by clicking here.

2. Singing Success
Vocal coach to the stars (Keith Urban, Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift, Haley Williams  & more)  and creator of Singing Success, an amazingly effective vocal training program you can download online, Brett Manning will help you improve your voice and gain a full octave – Guaranteed!  I’ve written about this resource many times because I use it and it works.  Click here to see for yourself.

What do Haley Williams, Keith Urban, Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift and John Stringer all have in common?

Question: What do Haley Williams, Keith Urban, Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift and John Stringer all have in common?

The Answer: We all have the same vocal coach Singing Success!

But hopefully, I pay a lot less than they do!

This video of Haley Williams (Paramore) tells you about her experience with the program:

I really like Haley Williams’ voice and if you caught the episode of Sophie’s Lounge on Sophie 103’s website (HERE) featuring State of Man’s live acoustic performance and interview, then you probably heard me doing one of the vocal warm up techniques she uses.

Though the techniques sound funny, they are the same ones not only Haley and I use, but plenty of other artists including Taylor Swift, Keith Urban and Miley Cyrus use them as well. thanks to the critically acclaimed vocal methods found in the  Singing Success program by Brett Manning.   The program costs $199 and it is well worth it.

I posted a review on the  Singing Success program before (here) but wanted to make sure anyone serious about becoming a great singer checks it out.  The before and after videos on the site will amaze you, and once you actually use it, you’ll understand exactly why the program is called Singing Success!

Modern Day Singing Telegram: Sax Fifth Avenue Surprise

One of my closest friends, Cire Campbell, asked if he could hire me to surprise his wife Tracy as a “singing telegram” on Valentines Day!  I was honored to help make their day a special one and my wife and daughter pitched in as well.  See how it turned out:

We had such a good time that I plan on doing it for a few more folks before State of Man hits the road, so if you are in Atlanta and need to give someone a special surpise, hit me up at john //at// johnstringerinc.com and I’ll see if I can help.

Anyone can learn to sing, right? What about developing a 6 octave range online?

Can anyone learn to sing?   From the before and after videos I’ve seen regarding Singing Success (like the one below), anyone can:

Me (John Stringer) singing with State of Man at the NARAS Grammy Block Party

I’ve sang nearly all of my life and have actually been paid for it for nearly a decade and a half, which includes my current role as front-man for rock band State of Man (PolyPlat Records).  Since rock was a very new challenge for me 8 years ago, I finally got over my own ego enough to seek vocal training.

My vocal coach now is Jan Smith, vocal coach to artists like Usher, India Arie, Rob Thomas of Matchbox20 and many others.  One session with her taught me more than I’d learned singing all my life.  One of the things she  taught me is that vocalists are athletes!  Naturally, the question I asked myself – and one you can ask yourself  – is what sort of vocal athlete do YOU want to be?  Do you want to be a novice or an Olympian… an amateur or professional,.. beginner or a world champion… average or great (… you get the point)?  Like any world-class athlete, GREATNESS requires a great coach.

Since  I needed quick help in increasing my range for a recent recording session and going to my vocal coach was not convenient, I checked out the online site for Singing Success Program by Brett Manning (vocal coach to artists like Haley Williams of Paramore, Miley Cyrus, Keith Urban and more), thanks to another great program I love called The Songwriting Genius Within You.  After checking out videos showing everything from 6 octave vocal ranges like Mariah Carey’s to the the one I featured above, I purchased the program as a sort of virtual, online vocal coach and it really paid off.   I’ve learned a lot and can already hit higher notes with more ease and the best is yet to come.   I also signed up for the affiliate program as well and highly recommend it.

Whether you want to learn to sing or radicly improve, take it from someone who has trained with a top vocal coach – I highly recommend Jan Smith for those who can afford her  and/or  Singing Success by Brett Manning!
