The Path of True Selfishness
I received a paragraph of information when “checking in” – asking a question and listening for the answer – a little while back, and soon after, I received inspiration for the title of my recent talk / shared message at Unity of Birmingham.
The title is “The path of True Selfishness.” I received the full talk the night before the service while in Birmingham, AL and I’m sharing it below for your benefit (note that it does not follow typical punctuation, so go with the flow). And for those that were at the UOB service, thank you for the honor of sharing with and meeting you. Many of you asked me where I got this message, which was partly due to my unintentionally ambiguous explanation during the service. When I mentioned I “downloaded” this message, I meant as I received it as a “spiritual download:”

You have wondered why things like violence, extreme punishment out of anger and the like exist. Why good things happen to bad people. You come up with explanations of why people do wrong and act without love, etc. You judge them all from a place of misunderstanding. Anything that occurs out of lower consciousness or even resistance from another’s actions is really your action because you are all one. You judge it as if someone else is somehow less enlightened but it is an illusion. for it is your own resistance you judge.
The reality is there is no right and wrong because you are all perfect: the one, Son of God, created perfect and unchanging. Spirit. Extension of the divine in part and in whole and complete. There is no lack of completeness; no need to look at anything and judge it as right and wrong. All action is what it is regardless of whether it stems from misperception or misinterpretation – regardless of whether it comes from illusion or some skewed perspective.
The individual experiencing the skewed perspective experiences the suffering. The actions are not right or wrong. They are meant for attack or ill will, but even that is an illusion because what is real can not be harmed. therefore all violence is just a transition of energy from those who suffer, but there really is no harm in any of it. This is truth . This is reality. This is the world you do not see. The world you see is full of harm, fear, evil, separation, doing unto others in harmful ways.
The wisdom in “do unto others as you would have them do unto you” is not because of right or wrong but because it allows you to stay in a higher state of consciousness and alignment. it prevents you from doing what you deem is harmful and attacking when illusion creeps in. “Do unto yourself as you would like to be done to you” is the real meaning here. Therefore, all others that you deem as yourself, your true self, the body of the son of God – Christ – is how you can treat others with love. It takes alignment to even be aware of your actions and takes alignment to know what is best in any moment. That is the wisdom.
When you are aligned you do not judge another’s actions, views or statements as right or wrong. It is part of the perception that they are dealing with and until you see the all is the one, you will have the same misperceptions. This is reality. The world you seek that brings peace is the only world that truly exists and is perfect, whole and void of right or wrong. The rest is just misperception. The light will shine as you align.
The Son of God is the creation of God, not in the masculine vs feminine sense, but that which Source begot as its creation. All of it is one creation, the essence of the sun moon, stars, people, dimensions, etc. it is all one creation that you are experiencing as an extension of the divine. You are that single creation. So think of the Son of God as it’s only creation – the one begotten son. Not, two, or three, or billions, but one creation.
Now think of your awareness as an individuation or aspect of that creation. Everything you experience, everything you see is all part of you. Just from an individuated perspective, if you will. Making sense of this is difficult because you don’t understand the purpose or motivation of creating the creation. It is Source’s motive for more. More experience, more individuated experience of itself, infinite expressions of the divine. The experiences are all meant to be experienced with peace, without fear, with love, with bliss, joy. When you understand that each change is just a transformation of visible light, each perceived change is just a movement of the visible light, then you will understand that nothing is ever lost in creation. It is eternal. It is ever expanding and it is all you. This is the oneness you have heard about and are. But it is not necessary to experience the knowing of this oneness until it is time. That is the completion of your individuated journey. Once you are there, you are simply returning to love and decide what you wish to do from there. perhaps return as something else in form at a different conscious level. it is all an infinite expanding ride to be enjoyed. not to be feared. Your perspective of destruction is false, for nothing real is destroyed. the appearance may change but the essence remains the same. all you. nothing is ever lost that is real.
Remembering how to love is letting go of fear, letting go of attachment, judgment, all the things you hold on to that are not everlasting, these are the things that block your experience of joy, of peace, of love. As you learn to let them go, you allow love to flow. You allow peace to shine and experience the divine nature of what you are. The whole process is enlightenment. It is never ending and ever expanding. Life’s purpose is more. Your purpose is more.
What’s most important is to align with your highest self, the all, the source, to allow the divine vision to flow vs that which you have been conditioned to believe is real. This is the ultimate freedom. The path of salvation. To see divine perfection in all that is. To accept it all and not resist what life brings. To allow it to unfold without resistance. that is the path of bliss that you must take. that is the path of love that you must take eventually; however, you decide how much to surrender and when to let go. you decide from moment to moment. and as the story unfolds, you eventually get to higher levels of consciousness.
Understand that no level is better or worse than another. The highest level continues to expand. There is no end. More.
Life is by definition abundance and you possess it all. You are simply remembering who you are from moment to moment. Resisting who you really are and believing you are what you are not creates the suffering. Life continues to remind you until you get it.
Do not worry about getting it all. Just know that these are reminders that you will expand into and understand when the divine timing is right. Ironically, you choose the divine timing, for it is already in motion by you and has already occurred, you are simply navigating what in truth has already occurred. It is not that you don’t have free will. It is that you have already chosen from moment to moment because time is a trick of the mind. yes. but that doesn’t seem relevant until the trick is no longer necessary. Indeed, it is a necessary trick of the mind to learn. when learning is complete time does not have relevance.
Learning is complete when you have returned fully to love. When all illusions are seen through and you see only the perfection, the love and light that you are.
The path to true selfishness is the path to loving all that is. The path to true selfishness is loving all that you are. not just the individuation of awareness you experience now but the all that you are. The universe. This is your journey and you are in an advanced stage of learning as humans. A physical plane that you have chosen to understand the illusion of this third dimension and learning how to navigate it through surrender to what is real, not to the temporal, not to what can be so called lost in your estimation, but surrender to what is real and everlasting. the essence of it all is you. the source energy is yours. From source but yours. Part of you. Your bothers and sisters are part of you. Source is part of you. Loving Source and loving your brother and sister as yourself. Loving creation. loving all that is, accepting all that is without judgment, fear or resistance, this is the path to True selfishness because love of your true self is greater than what it has been seen to be in the past.
Loving your neighbor as yourself because it is yourself. Because you are the “image of God” who loves its son, its creation, YOU.
Now, practically, is it possible? yes. It is the will of source, and if you could deny the will of source, then you would have mastery over source and the reality is you can not defy the will of source. would the creator give you power to go outside of it’s divine order? No. Free will is simply the appearance of our ability to defy Source. This is nonsense and a misunderstanding that creates fear of punishment, sin and the like. All this is is a mistakes, missing the vision or the mark, error. miscreation of illusion that you give power through your beliefs. But they are not real. By definition, illusion, though having power through your belief, can not destroy or even adversely affect what is real. Your self is not what you see with the visible eye. that is simply the appearance of things. The truth of what it is is the light and love. The shadows it casts are what you see with your eyes and you interpret that as the real. but what is real does not change. so how could it be real?
What God creates is not only changeless but indestructible. Your creations are subject to change because they are illusions. The planets, stars, the essence of it is all is changeless. The planets are your co-creation with that essence. Yourself. The universe that is visible is all a co-creation of you. You are the universe and you created the visible forms.
That is why it is changeable. Of course, if you think you are the human having an experience limited to your awareness, then you miss the point of oneness. that would be a separation and either you are one or not.
If you are one, how could it be limited to just humanity? There is more than humanity here, so there would be at least two, humanity and everything else. That would contradict oneness.
If you are everything that is, let’s say it is just visible creation. But even science tells you there is something else beyond just visible creation. SO there is visible creation and everything else invisible? But how could there by one when then there is at least two from that perspective? No. You are all that is. The visible and the invisible.
The visible is the creation you have made. A virtual reality of sorts that is like it’s creator.. like you. Ever expanding. However, unlike you, it is not changeless. You are ever expanding and changeless. Your creation is ever expanding and changing. You have been given the blessing of creating this changing visible universe by authority of Source. It is for your joy, bliss and enjoyment. all of it. You are the one verse, the universe. You are that creative spirit, that co-creative force. the essence and the laws are of source, but you are it’s maker.. what is visible and changing. You have misinterpreted it (the essence) as not you, and therefore fear is due to that separation. but once you expand in to knowing it is all you and that you are even one with source and the creation is yours, the changing creation you have dominion over will no longer be feared. the divine intelligence is you, too. That is truth. That is fact as you would say, but unlike your facts, this is divine fact. changeless. Your facts are subject to change with new revelations. Lean not unto your own understanding. Acknowledge your highest all knowing self, source, your father, mother, creator, and your path will be guided accordingly.
Know that hearing this, even if it seems over your head, is just a reminder of what your soul knows but your ego – your condition mind – fights. Do not depend on the conditioned mind for understanding for it is an illusion based on separation and fear. Instead, ask for the highest vision to reveal what you need to understand and take what you need from it at your level of consciousness
SO, I leave you with this quote from one of the lessons in “A course in Miracles:”
Spirit, I am. A holy son of god. Free of all limitations. Safe, healed and whole. Free to forgive and free to change the world.
The path to True Selfishness is remembering who you are and being who you truly are. Spirit. Not the body.
Sinless, holy, not broken, tarnished or wicked. There is no right or wrong in anything you have ever done or will do.
Free of all limitations. You are all that is and your purpose is enjoying the more. You navigate the illusions by either remembering the truth or resisting yourself, not accepting yourself. Free yourself by accepting all you are. All that is.
Safe. Nothing that is real can be harmed.
Healed. Sickness is a simple illusion that attacks reality, but truth brings the appearance of miracles because it attests to the truth. Nothing that is real can be harmed.
Whole. You are all that is, not separate from anything.
Free to forgive. When you let go of the appearance of right and wrong, judgement, sin, etc., the illusion, you forgive because you realize there was never anything wrong.
Free to save the world by letting go of the beliefs that appear to steel your joy and peace, only because you believe you’ve lost or given it way. Heaven is reflected in your creation once you let go of the illusions.
How do you do all this? Ask, Seek, Knock and it will be given to you. This is the more you came here for. This is love.
