“Oneness Through Diversity”
I was blessed to ask for what was seeking to be birthed for my 07.17.16 talk at Unity of the Triangle and was inspired to write this text for the talk (see text & video below).
If you’d like to review another talk of a similar nature, be sure to also see my talk, “The Path of True Selfishness,” here.
Here’s the text & video from “Oneness Through Diversity:”
The topic is Oneness Through Diversity.
This is an interesting topic sense diversity itself is a delusion or illusion depending on the perspective. It is an illusion when seen from it’s temporal or temporary nature and a delusion when seen as real.
Given it is changing and subject to transformation, by definition of what is real – namely, the changeless, form is not real. The belief in it as real and attachment to it is the delusion.
So, diversity properly viewed can be appreciated as a great work of art that is subject to great change. It is an expanding work of art to be enjoyed and navigated with the awareness that it is simply art. When meaning is assigned and believed as real, it becomes delusional perspective. Not the diversity itself, for it is simply the appearance and meaning assigned, but the belief in it as real becomes the delusion.
What is the proper way to view diversity. Diversity is the more, the right of life to experience more. It is the reason source extends itself as you in various perspectives but do not think that this is the reality of life. This is only an aspect of the whole, the essence the awareness that you view life from. The meaning you assign is often largely delusional.
When it comes to diversity, you think that your cultures, body types, skin colors, ethnicities and all these other differences are real. This is what most would call diversity. Snowflakes are divers. Bodies are divers. Planets, stars, solar systems, galaxies, what you call species, all divers. SO much diversity. Yet the essence is the only thing that is real and that essence is the source, of which you are one with. Not two or billions, but one with.
You may have heard it said there is only one of you here. If you could understand that the awareness of your brother, your awareness, and all awareness is one essence peering through various divers individuated perspectives, and that this one source is you, then you would understand that the self that is real, the one source, is all that is real. It is you. The awareness it peers through is the frame . consciousness pears through these individuated awareness perspectives, if you will, and simply experiences itself as infinitely diverse art. Yes. Infinitely diverse art.
If you could appreciate this art as handy work that is masterful yet not real, you would be closer to the truth than you could ever imagine.
Diversity is what is sought as an experience of the one extending itself to be encountered and remembered in all its aspects as perfect, to give bliss, peace love, joy, kindness, compassion, forgiveness and appreciation in every experience. To be accepted as a beautiful play or dream and enjoyed through non-judgment and non-attachment.
This is not so hard when you let go of the conditioned thinking, the limited skewed perspectives that tell you something is wrong, all is not well or you are incomplete and separate from your brother, from all that is.
If you would deny this fallacy, deny the realness of diversity, you would set yourself free from the suffering, fear, attachment and sorrow caused by change of the form, shifts and transformations of the illusion.
For your essence , what is real, can not be harmed. Who you truly are, the one, is all there really is.
Consciousness, not the body.
Imagine a vast column of water infinitely expanding. Now, imagine one point on this column. This point is your individuated perspective. Your awareness is like seeing through a small hole.
As you align with the source (which is the essence of this column of consciousness / your true self) – you expand your awareness and begin to see from a higher frequency of consciousness. Yet all the levels are you. From highest to lowest. The entire column is you and as your individuated perspective expands, you begin to understand that every aspect of creation – the seen form – is the illusion… and the essence of it all is you.
The source of all that is is you. You are an extension of this source in part and in whole, yet, you are here to remember this in order to be set free from suffering, free from judgment and self imposed condemnation. You set yourself free as you extend forgiveness to all that is. Any un-forgiveness held on to toward your brother or any situation, event, or anything in your consciousness, is a cause of suffering. Let go and recognize that only what is real is what you are. The changeless, that which cannot be harmed. This is the oneness and this is the truth you came to understand.
Diversity is art, the illusion, a painting. Appreciate it. Yet, do not fall for the delusion that it is what you are. Those who suffer are those who attach to the differences and create the specialness, create the judgments, the separation and the reason for anger and attack.
How do you appreciate diversity in practical terms? The same way you appreciate any aspect of the journey, the same way you appreciate your human identity. Know that who you have been conditioned to view yourself as, this body, this name with a story, is not who you really are. It is the role you’ve played. Yet you are the divine, an extension of the one, the only one, and you are here to know that everything else you have believed in, in form, is simply a beautiful work of art. An illusion, not to be believed in. Not to be thought of as real, but as a beautiful movie. Diversity is the same. A beautiful complex illusion not to be believed as the real. For If it were, how could oneness ever be real? It can still be honored and appreciated, for it is a great path to learning love, lessons of forgiveness, lessons of non attachment, non judgment, etc. Lessons of seeing beyond the veil. The ego would have you believe this is real.
You may have heard be in the world but not of the world. The world spoken of here is this seen world with the body’s eyes. This is the world that you are in yet it is the illusion. You are not of this form. You are essence. Spirit. The only begotten son of god. You are the divine essence, not the form itself. Thus, all diversity is the appearance of things of form, appearance of the world. It is not real.. It is simply beautiful art to be appreciated. Loved for what it is but not attached to. Not defended as real. Simply enjoyed from a place of power.
Once you realize you are not the body, and know that you are the one, you can take back your power and release the fear of death, release the fear of separation, release all the fears that plague you through limited conditioned thinking / or the ego.
You Can finally embrace forgiveness for what it is, releasing all that is – your brother, source, and all else – from the concept of imperfection and thus, free yourself.
For every thought of un-forgiveness, any thought you hold on to of un-forgiveness or sin, whether toward another or your perceived self, is like a dagger hanging over your own head. As you forgive, you release these daggers and set your true self free.
So, your only responsibility when it comes to diversity, when it comes to navigating life, when it comes to being, is aligning with your true essence – source – and allowing that divine perspective to guide you. Allowing source energy to remove blocks in whatever form it deems best. Simply say yes to God, yes to source, yes to the divine essence you are and allow it to guide you.
You have heard it said, lean not to your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge HIM and he shall direct your path. I say to you, let go of your conditioned limited thinking and find practices that allow you to receive divine understanding, divine perspective that is not limited by your false beliefs in form, in separation and in sin.
You are what is real and what is real is the changeless essence, the powerful creative force that sustains all that is. Unity helps bring about recognition, amplification of this divine frequency of love, appreciation, acceptance and non attachment. It helps unite the individuated perspectives and heals the fractures so that diversity is no longer used as a tool for separation, but simply appreciated as the art it is. Like the Tibetan mandalas, seen as a beautiful works of art, each individuated perspective that shows up as your brother, is recognized as the one, the Christ essence, the holy and pure spirit that you are, and enjoyed without resistance, without suffering, without fear – forgiven, blameless and changeless.
What the form does is meaningless, though the ego says differently.
Only love is real. This brings peace. This brings liberation. This brings oneness through diversity.
